The Warrior Ethic
The ethics of the Warriors are simple, and all are related to the idea that each Warrior is a blade sharpened for battle. It is interesting to note - the Warriors do not consider themselves to be a sword, rather a blade - as found in a sickle, scythe, dagger and sword.
All blades are tempered. They have suffered the heat of the forge and the frigidity of the cooling bucket. They bear the scars of the heat beneath a shining surface. This tempering makes them stronger. Each blade is tested often during its creation. So we too must be tested time and time again. For our time here is nothing more than our creation.
All blades are sharp. For a dull blade is worse than useless. But even a dull blade can be made sharp again. Working against the stone, the unbeatable opponent, strikes off the dullness and replaces it with an edge that can kill. We are like the blade, our edge must be honed and kept sharp. A sharp blade can cut both its wielder and its enemy. We should be able to turn against ourselves just as the blade can turn against its wielder. By being sharp we can be victorious.
All blades glow with an inner sense of peace. Is a blade ever undecided? Does a blade ever hesitate? Neither should we. Cut deep, drink deeper and be victorious. A blade obeys its wielder. The Warrior is the blade, the hierarchy is the wielder. As with the blade, the wielder is both more and less than the blade.
"Be like the blade. Be tempered, be sharp and be at peace. Through this peace war will come. And the battles you are in require all your wits and all of your abilities. Be like the blade. Does it not sing in battle? Does it not drink deeply and either break or be victorious?
"Be as the blade."
The Virtues of Shadow
1. Loyality - Above all others are considerations of duty and loyalty. A high example of devotion to duty (Senior Leaders or righteousness)....it requires a warrior specifically to to serve his/her lord/lady with the utmost loyalty and in general to put devotion to moral principle (righteousness) ahead of personal gain. The achievement of this high ideal involves constant self-discipline and a readiness to meet death at any time. Shadow Warriors live a rigidly disciplined life under absolute demands of authority, with the constant threat of death about him. Roughness, directness, and above all action is demanded of him.
“Underlying his/her philosophy of life is the warrior's idea of loyalty to his/her superiors. Glorifying the idea of ‘service and fealty to a lord-leader-cause’, the warrior’s loyalty is firm. Even if the superior falls in defeat there will be no transference of allegiance”.
"Do Not Forget the Subordinate!" The superior is as loyal to the subordinates as the subordinate is unto him/her.
2. Courage - The Shadow stands regardless of circumstances, he/she keeps the state or quality of mind or spirit that enables him/her to face danger, fear, or death with self-possession, confidence, and resolution; bravery.
3. Justice - The Shadow must keep a principle of moral rightness in action or attitude. Upholding what is just with honor to be righteous.
4. Honor - A Shadow must have personal integrity. A code of integrity, dignity, and pride upheld by force of arms. Be true to shadow in all things.
5. Vercity - A Shadow must adhere to the truth. Combat will be based on fact or truth. All shadow must report with accuracy or precision any events pertaining to shadow. Make no doubt for why someone is being killed.
6. Polite - A Shadow will consideration for others, tact, and observance of accepted social usage even when killing or being killed other players. Smile when you drive that sword home.
7. Benevolence - A Shadow should always be willing to perform kind, charitable acts. You never know where the next Shadow Warrior may come from.
8. Tenacity- A Shadow shows persistent dogged determination in pursuit of what ever goals he/she has. Never ever give up.
Back up and rethink when necessary but always come back at it again.
9. Fun - As a part of Shadow never forget we are here to have fun. If you do than its time to rethink what your doing.
CLAN HIERARCHY
It is important to have a firm understanding of the hierarchy maintained by the clan. The
inner workings of Shadow Clan must be disciplined if it is to function properly.
This is why it is necessary for even the newest member of the clan to become fully aware of
the etiquette (code) maintained by it’s members. Understanding the positions of power
within the clan is imperative if one is to learn the value of organization.
Shadow Master
The leader of the Shadow is known as the Shadow Master. This is the Veteran Player, who
because of his/her mastery of the game combined with some form of inspiration, has
dedicated his/her life to preserving the Shadow heritage by passing his knowledge on to new
generations. The Shadow Master is a Veteran Shadow who, even after mastering the systematic
skills maintained by the clan, continues his/her limitless search for deeper knowledge in
all things. It is the Shadow Master's insight that guides the clan. His tag is represented
by SDW. And is currently held by Nitemare.
Shadow Council or Shadow Lords
By the Shadow Master’s side are the warriors who believe completely in the Shadow way of
life. Such service enables these warriors to receive privileged information direct from the
source. The Shadow Council endeavor to bring honor to the clan by becoming heir to their
Master’s name and continuing the Tradition upon the Master’s departure. Although this path
is tempting to undertake because of it’s obvious benefits, only the most devout warriors are
capable of surviving this path for any length of time. Each Lord represents a sect
currently there are two CWS and KSW(K5W) which are held currently by StormLrd and General.
Shadow Hands or sub-commanders
Directly under the Master and his Lords are the clan’s sub-commanders. These
warriors are considered to be the retainers of the clan, practitioners that are of
accomplished rank that become leaders in their own right. The sub-commanders serve as the
instructors for those below their rank while doubling as an elite fighting force if needed
for a special assignment. The sub-commander is a special breed of warrior who is responsible
for one of the specific sects within the clan. A sub-commander’s duties include; overseeing
the training of initiates, choosing the appropriate warriors for assignments set forth by
the Council, keeping morale high within the ranks and defeating internal problems as they
occur, if not before. There can be numerous sub-commanders within the clan depending on
the number of warriors under their guidance. Realistically, there should be one
sub-commander for every five warriors. Such responsibility would be a burden to anyone
but the dutiful and skilled sub-commander.
Currently CWS members are known as Wardens and KSW members known as Knights.
Sects and theirs names shall be approved by the council. Members will also be approved by
the council.
Directly below the sub-commander are the actual field operatives who carry out the clan’s
objectives. The field operatives make up the majority of the clan and their skill levels
can range anywhere from a new recruit to a seasoned veteran.
